Lauren Booth

Sarah Jane Booth, born in North London, is a half-sister of Cherie Blair and daughter of actor Tony Booth. Trained as an actress at the London Academy of Performing Arts, she toured Europe with theatre companies. Raised without a specific religion, she has a diverse family background with several half-siblings.

Booth began her journalism career in 1997 with the London Evening Standard and later wrote for the New Statesman and The Mail on Sunday. She appeared on *I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!* in 2006, and has presented programs on the Islam Channel and Press TV. She briefly worked at Al Jazeera in 2014.

A critic of the Iraq War, Booth is an activist with the Stop the War Coalition. In 2008, she traveled to Gaza to highlight the blockade and deliver aid, though she was initially denied entry to Israel and Egypt. She has returned to Gaza multiple times for humanitarian work.

Booth converted to Islam in 2010, citing her experiences in Palestine as a major influence. She joined Cageprisoners as a patron in 2011 but left in 2015. She and her husband Sohale Ahmed, involved with Peace Trail, faced trustee disqualification due to financial issues reported by the Charity Commission.
