Metin Erol

In 2010, he was admitted with a full scholarship to the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Gediz University, from which he graduated at the top of his class in 2015. In 2019, he completed his master’s degree in the Public Policy program of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Marmara University with his thesis titled “The Struggle for Cultural Hegemony in Turkish Politics: A Comparative Analysis of the Single-Party and AK Party Periods.” He earned his PhD in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Istanbul University, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Komsuoğlu Çıtıpıtıoğlu, with his dissertation titled “A Content and Framing Analysis of the Rally Speeches of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu as Political Leaders.” Between April 2016 and June 2021, Erol worked as a research assistant at the SETA Foundation. From September 2021 to July 2022, he served as Chief Correspondent for Analytical News at Anadolu Agency. In July 2022, he was appointed as the Istanbul Regional Director of the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey.
