Nevin Arslan

Born in 1984 in Istanbul, the author graduated from the Department of Journalism at Selçuk University. After completing the master’s program in Journalism at the University of North Texas in 2009, she began her PhD in Cinema at the Faculty of Communication, Marmara University, in 2011. She became a research assistant at the same faculty in 2012 and received her doctorate in 2016. Her doctoral dissertation was titled “The Representation of Muslim Identity in Hollywood Cinema in the Context of the Othering Problem.” Specializing in cinema, the author continues her academic work in the field of communication. Her areas of academic expertise include representation in cinema, identity, image, and social theory. Currently living in Istanbul, she continues her academic studies and writes in various literary genres, including cinema articles, short stories, essays, and novels. She published a short story collection titled Kündekâr in 2022 and an analytical book called Cinema That Changed the World in 2023.
