Resul Yelen

Resul Yelen was Born in 1988 in Tosya, Kastamonu. He completed his primary and secondary education in Istanbul. He received his undergraduate degree from Ege University between 2006 and 2011, including one year of preparatory education in a foreign language. After completing the coursework phase of his master’s degree at the Department of Turkish-Islamic Arts at Ege University, he was appointed to Van Yüzüncü Yıl University in 2012 within the scope of the Faculty Development Program (ÖYP). In the same department, he completed his master’s thesis titled "Architectural Monuments in Khoy (Iran)" in 2014. In 2019, he was awarded the title of Doctor of Philosophy for his doctoral dissertation titled "Materials and Techniques in Anatolian Architecture of the Seljuk Period (Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia)." He is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Art History at the Faculty of Letters, Istanbul Medeniyet University. His research interests include Iran, symbolism, Seljuk architecture, and masons’ marks. He has taken part in projects on gravestones and medieval studies. His current work focuses on Seljuk and medieval architecture.
