He was born in 1980 in Amasya. He graduated from the Department of Economics at Istanbul University Faculty of Economics in 2001. He completed his master’s degree at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa in 2008. Between 2008 and 2015, he worked at the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation as project coordinator in Sudan and as Africa coordinator. His first book, The Ottoman Legacy in South Africa, was published by Lambert Publishing in 2011. In 2018, his second book, Turkey-Africa Relations: Historical Process, Approaches, and Expectations, was published. Between 2016 and 2024, he served as a researcher at the Center for Humanitarian and Social Research (İNSAMER). Orakçı completed his doctoral studies at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University in 2020 with a dissertation on regional issues and national integration in Sudan. He currently serves as a faculty member in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Haliç University.
