Zeynep Ertekin

She graduated from Sakarya University Faculty of Law in 2017. During her university years, she began her work in the field of human rights through the Mizan Law Student Society, which she founded and chaired. During this period, she contributed to reporting on cases such as Mavi Marmara, Yasin Börü, and the July 15 Coup Trials. After graduation, she started working at the International Refugee Rights Association, where she continued her work in the fields of Immigration Law, Refugee Law, and Human Rights Law. She also actively participated in the Violations Review Committee and the Prisons Review Committee at the IHAK Association. She contributed to reporting activities within the Violations Review Committee–Philippines/Moro Region Monitoring Group. She played an active role in the founding and management of the Savana Women Lawyers Platform, conducting work on the Istanbul Convention, examples of the death penalty applied worldwide, and human rights violations in East Turkistan on behalf of the platform. In addition, she continues her civil society work with the Lawyers Association, the World Lawyers’ Association (WOLAS), and the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation. Currently, she serves as a coordinator at the International Refugee Rights Association and as a board member of WOLAS, while also practicing as a freelance lawyer.
