Betül Doğan Akkaş

She graduated from the Department of International Relations at Bilkent University in 2014. In 2017, she earned her master’s degree in Gulf Studies at Qatar University, focusing on securitization in Qatari foreign policy. She completed her doctoral studies in the joint Gulf Studies program between Durham University and Qatar University. She leads the International Mediterranean, Middle East, and Asia Studies group within the British International Studies Association (BISA). Her main research areas include the political cultures, foreign policies, and security strategies of Gulf countries.
