He completed his undergraduate studies in Economics at Boğaziçi University. He earned his master’s degree in Economic Policy at Istanbul University with a thesis titled “The Transformation of Turkish Agricultural Policies After 2000 and a Field Study: The Case of Kırklareli.” Between 2014 and 2016, Eğri was a visiting researcher at George Mason University. He completed his doctoral studies at Istanbul University’s Department of Economics with a dissertation titled “The Political Economy of the Arab Uprisings and an Attempt at Democratic Transition: The Case of Egypt.” Eğri currently works as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Economics, Kırklareli University. His main research areas include institutional economics, Middle Eastern economies, civil-military relations in the economy, and Islamic economics. He also continues his work as the Chairman of the Board at İLEM.
Platform: Agenda of the Muslim World was established within the İLKE Science Culture Education Foundation as a publication organ that aims to follow and analyze the intellectual, political, social, economic and cultural agendas of Muslim societies and to present current and original perspectives on the Muslim world.
