Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kavas completed his undergraduate education at Ankara University Faculty of Theology in 1987, followed by his master’s degree in 1991 and PhD in 1996 in Paris, both funded by a scholarship from the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation. Between 2008 and 2011, he served as an adviser to the Prime Ministry of the Republic of Türkiye on African affairs. In March 2013, he was appointed as the Republic of Türkiye’s first ambassador to the Republic of Chad, serving in the capital N’Djamena for two and a half years. In August 2015, he was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Political Science at Istanbul Medeniyet University. As of June 2024, Kavas has been serving at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Istanbul Ticaret University.
