Muhammad Mehdi is an international relations and media researcher based in Lahore, Pakistan. He holds an M.A. in History from Punjab University, Lahore, and received training in political and media strategy from the International Academy for Leadership in Gummersbach, Germany.
He is the Founder and Chairman of the Institute of International Relations and Media Research (IIRMR) and also serves as Chairman of the think tank Soch. He is a member of the Board of Governors of the Sach Institute and formerly served as Coordinator of FRIENDS Lahore Chapter.
Since 2015, he has been a regular columnist for Daily Jang, Pakistan’s largest Urdu newspaper, with additional publications in Dawn, The News, The Nation, and various international outlets.
He has received the Japan National Award (2015) and the China Friendship Award (2021). He has delivered lectures and participated in conferences and diplomatic forums across multiple countries including the United States, China, Iran, Germany, France, and Türkiye.
Platform: Agenda of the Muslim World was established within the İLKE Science Culture Education Foundation as a publication organ that aims to follow and analyze the intellectual, political, social, economic and cultural agendas of Muslim societies and to present current and original perspectives on the Muslim world.
