Resul Yelen

Born in Tosya, Kastamonu in 1988, he completed his primary and secondary education in Istanbul. He completed his undergraduate studies at Ege University between 2006 and 2011, which included a one-year foreign language preparatory program. After finishing the coursework for his Master’s degree in the Department of Turkish-Islamic Arts at Ege University, he was appointed to Van Yüzüncü Yıl University in 2012 under the Faculty Training Program (ÖYP). In 2014, he completed his Master’s thesis titled "Architectural Monuments in Khoy, Iran" within the same department. He was awarded his PhD in 2019 with a doctoral dissertation titled "Material and Technique in Anatolian Architecture of the Seljuk Era (Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia)." He currently continues his academic work as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Art History at the Faculty of Letters, Istanbul Medeniyet University. His research focuses on Iran, symbolism, Seljuk architecture, and stonemason marks. He has participated in various projects regarding tombstones and Medieval studies, and he is currently continuing his research on Seljuk and Medieval architecture.
