Taha Zahid Özdemir was born in Fatih, Istanbul. He completed his bachelor's degree at the Faculty of Architecture, International University of Sarajevo, and earned his master's degree from the Department of Architectural Surveying and Restoration at Yıldız Technical University, where he currently continues his academic studies at the PhD level.

He took part in the restoration project of the Ottoman Porticos at the Kaaba in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Since 2016, he has been working at the Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA) in Istanbul, an institution affiliated with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) headquartered in Jeddah with 58 member states. In addition to the preservation of the architectural and cultural heritage of the Islamic world, he continues his work in the field of Islamic arts.
