Tuba Yıldız is a faculty member in the Department of the History of Islamic Sects at the Istanbul University Faculty of Theology. In 2011, she received language training at the University of Jordan. She completed her Master’s degree at Istanbul University in 2012 with a thesis titled "The Sunni Opposition Movement in Syria: The Muslim Brotherhood."
In 2018, she earned her PhD from the same university with her dissertation, "Sectarian Policies and Legal Practices of the Ottoman Empire in Mount Lebanon (1839–1914)." During her doctoral studies, she served as a visiting researcher at the American University of Beirut and Columbia University. Yıldız is the author of the books "The Law of Tradition, the Justice of the Ottoman: Druze and Maronites" and "Beirut." She continues her research on sectarian groups in Lebanon within the context of the relationship between identity and politics
