Merdan Hanyyev

Merdan Hanyyev, who was born in Turkmenistan in 1990, completed his education here until his undergraduate years. He started his bachelor's degree in philosophy at Istanbul 29 Mayıs University in 2011. Hanyyev, who turned to the History of Islamic Thought, especially Nazari Sufism during his undergraduate years, followed various courses in these fields both in the school and in various and foundations. After his undergraduate education, he studied Arabic to work in this field. From his graduate education, which he started at Mezkûr University in 2016, Prof. Dr. He graduated in the field of comparative philosophy under the supervision of Tahsin Görgün by writing a thesis titled "Ibn Hazm and Moral Problems Arising from the Self and Self". In 2018, he started his doctoral education at Medeniyet University Turkish-Islamic Thought as a YTB scholarship holder and in 2025, Prof. Dr. He graduated by defending his doctoral thesis titled "Saiduddin Fergani's Human Conceiving", which he wrote under the supervision of Eşref Altaş. The book version of this text was published by EskiYeni publications. Hanyyev, who is married and has a child, carries out his philosophical studies on the systematization of Nazari Sufism, the relationship of this tradition with other traditions of Islamic Thought and its comparison with different philosophical traditions, especially through human and moral imaginations.
